Making Music Videos – professional advice?

I own a video production company and I currently HDV devices. I was wondering what equipment I need to get (hardware, software and cameras (film or DV)) to produce videos High quality music for my clients. I'm not looking for cheap camera, I'm looking for what works best for both film and DV. So any input in procedures, techniques or tutorials are much appreciated. This is something I will offer to future clients. Thank you in advance, JC

I think in your case, I could not think of a better camera as the HVX200. It is fairly cheap your company already has can afford some pretty expensive HDV cam, and provide the greatest bang for the buck, you can get. Firstly, I will tell you that I never before used the HVX200, but it is certainly the camera, I do when I receive money (or its successor). You will able to shoot in 24p/30p, but the biggest advantage is that it has variable speeds. This means that you can get a smooth idle and the effects of accelerated which are perfect for music videos. While P2 cards cost a lot of money and have a short recording, he is able to draw 24p native, not 3:2 pulldown, which means that space is saved, and no quality is lost. Also, short recording time should not be too big of a problem since you are several video clips, and the workflow would in any way similar to a flow of film production. And finally it is DVCPRO HD, which makes editing and offers higher image quality. As for software, I think that Adobe Production Studio is the best choice, because it does not cost too much, and each program has a tight integration. And yes, it was After Effects. I suppose you have a computer well enough already. If you plan upgrade, a dual core over 2.4 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and at least 300 GB of hard drive space is good. The equipment should you have pictures of professional quality. Everything else is yours. Hope this helps!
