Well, it's official. You go out in the video marketing business (or business) and you'll have a role to speak to camera. After ringing your mother, let him know you found glory, reality hits in. How are you going to pull this off?

The good news is a charismatic business leader can add tremendous impact and influence of a marketing video or commercial. Bad news are just a few leaders have the skills to talk to the camera naturally.

But before you call, talking to the camera is a skill. And any skill can be learned.

Here are some tips to help you shine in your "moment of glory."

1. Wear the right clothes. If you are the CEO, a suit is the way forward. Choose conservative colors and stay away from checks, stripes and reds. They are not very good film and serve as a distraction to the viewer.

2. Go for makeup (whether you are male or female). Nice even complexion, clean hair and a quick brush with powder can help keep the shine away. Once you have under the lights of a set of films, it will be hard not to perspire (even more if you're nervous). A professional makeup artist will also make you feel special and more confident in front of the camera.

3. Trust the director. Forget that you are the customer and realize that you are now the talent. Let the professionals do their work and letting go. Although it may be difficult for most people, it can be a refreshing change. Leave yourself around and do not bump worry about how it all goes to work.

4. Relax. Forget the amount of urgent work accumulate on your desk. Focus on the task most important of the day – the cameo. If you're relaxed, you're more likely to be easy going and friendly. This will allow the administrator to obtain the best performance from you.

5. Repeat. Always have your lines prepared and do not expect that you can kite on the day. It's amazing how a big camera on your face can make you forget what you meant. Repeat your lines more and more in front of a mirror. Make sure you look and sound natural. Practise speaking clearly and with a smile on your face. Repeat as many times as you can. More confident you are giving a speech appealing, the better you will be less and will be required. This will reduce costs. If you do not feel comfortable with your performance, hire a media trainer beforehand to advise you to talk to the camera.

6. Enjoy! The filming is much slower than you anticipated. Lighting and audio equipment can take time to implement. If you shoot outside, waiting for the sun to make an appearance on a cloudy day can also be very slow. Take a book with you and all the work you can do in the downtime. And while basking in the glory of being part of an exciting film shoot!
